The Institute of Medicinal Chemistry (IQM) was founded in 1973 and belongs to the Spanish Research Council (CSIC). The institute is located at the Organic Chemistry Centre “Lora-Tamayo”. We focus our activity on the discovery and optimisation of bioactive molecules for treatment, characterisation and diagnosis of different diseases
We apply chemical approaches to solve biomedical problems that cover a wide variety of pathologies, from cancer to neurodegenerative, infectious and cardiovascular diseases. br>
Our research groups have extensive experience in chemical synthesis, molecular modeling, computational chemistry, study of interactions with biomolecules and nanotechnology
