The IQM is a multidisciplinary research center, specialized in drug discovery, with an outstanding connection with the industry of the pharmaceutic field through collaborations and contracts.
It covers a range of innovative research projects in the field being focused on the design, synthesis, study and optimization of new chemical entities with activity in different therapeutic fields, as well as in areas covering aspects related to Drug Discovery like biosensors and probes, pharmacology, nanomedicine for image, diagnostics and drug delivery. The aims are to provide new drug leads, to study their interactions with biological targets at the molecular level, and/or to contribute to the identification of novel therapeutic targets. Regarding therapeutic areas, we are mainly focused on agents for treating cancer, infectious and cardiovascular diseases and neurodegenerative processes and pain.
The activity is developed around different scientific programs that cover diverse aspects of Drug Discovery.
