DREAM modulators, new target in neurodegenerative diseases.

DREAM, also known as calseniline or KChip3, is a neuronal sensor calcium protein, for which, recent biological studies have shown a central role in calcium homeostasis and a clear function in processes related to neurodegeneration, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s or Huntington’s disease. In this context, our goal is the search for new molecular entities as hits to obtain prototype modulators of DREAM activities, and as pharmacological tools to study its interactome, mainly, in the network of protein-protein interactions involved in neurodegenerative diseases.
